about

The album "Sha La La" is The Late Show's follow up to their critically acclaimed album "Portable Pop", which was named in 2018, the #33 Top Power Pop album of all time in the book, "SHAKE SOME ACTION 2.0: An Updated Guide To The 200 Greatest Power Pop Albums 1970-2017".

The Late Show's new album, "Sha La La" features 10 new originals from the band's classic line-up of Don Main, Mark Moran, Chris Pyle, and Rick Clayton. "Sha La La" is the followup album to their 1980 power pop classic "Portable Pop".

The Late Show debuted their new record on SiriusXm's Underground Garage. The albums title track, Sha La La (Wake Me When You're Done), was one of the stations featured "Coolest Song In The World".

When asked why it took 38 years for the band to record a follow up album to their 1980 power pop classic, "Portable Pop", singer Don Main laughed, "We did a follow up in 1983 with producer John Hampton that was never released. We did another album in the mid 80's with producer Ian Ritchie which was never released. We talked about it and decided before our labeled released the 1983 album and the other one, we wanted to make a new record and get it out first. We have been playing together again since 2012 and having a blast. The time was just right. We had so much fun doing the new album, "Sha La La", we've already started work on our next record. Our label has a series of reissues planned for 2019 that will celebrate our entire recorded catalog from 1973 though 1993. Trashy Creature Records is also doing a new vinyl pressing of "Portable Pop" in 2020 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of it’s release.”
